My worst nightmare ever.
My worst nightmare ever.
We were on our way to the Euro tunnel and after 40 mins into the journey we over heated losing all our coolant. This was at 19.55. After a quick inspection I realised we had a broken hose and this was probably an easy fix.
So I phoned Green flag and explained the situation and to my surprise we were told that a technician would be with us around 11pm. That was a pretty normal thing so I was happy.
I did explain to them that there was 6 of us including 2 young children and we were on a busy stretch on the A11 and that we were on a junction and not in a safe place at all. But we were prepared to wait the 3 hours.
Bless the police they noticed us and came to protect us so a big thanks to them.
11.30 came and we have not been recovered as yet so I phoned Green flag again and they told me that they were extremely busy even though this was on a Monday night.
This time they texted me that our recovery driver would be with us by 9am.
By this time me and my family were already devastated by now the fact we missed our shuttle to go across and my poor children was so upset.
So I decided to go a plan b.
I decided to ring the RAC who I am with as well. I thought who ever gets here first because we are so desperate.
To my surprise RAC came to us within 45 mins and repaired our vehicle and we were off again.
We had to pay a fee for being late for our shuttle but we have got to our destination and we are happy.
Now Green flag wanted to send out a recovery truck by 9am leaving us for 13 hours.
They then wanted to send us back home in a taxi.
They would take our vehicle to a garage off our choice the next day.
Even though I explained we just need a technician due to a split hose.
Green flag also texted me that i if I break down again I can’t call them for 28 days or I will be charged for the Breakdown.
I have saved all these text and after my holiday I am most definitely going to throw them in the deep end just exactly how they did to me and my family.
I am going to go out my way to publish my story.
How dare they.
May I say a big thanks to Norfolk police for helping us so much & the RAC recovery driver who came from Cromer to rescued us & repaired our vehicle.
Green flag you should not be allowed to take our money and all I can say about you is that you are a bunch of scammers.
You will refund me every penny you have taken from me.
Avoid Green Flag.

Hello
Hello, I should not have to contact Green Flag , you ought to be doing the right thing without me having to wait over a year for you to return my stolen money, or is it a policy to target pensioners to steal money from their banks ?
'couldn't' offer me a hire car because…
'couldn't' offer me a hire car because when my car broke down I drove it into the nearest garage. Apparently they would only have been able to help if I had stopped the car by the side of the road and waited for them to come and tow my car to garage I left it at anyway, pointless cover

Vehicle details on App are incorrect
I joined Green Flag on 6th May 2022. Since then, I've been trying to get the vehicle details on the App to be amended. I have a Mini Paceman but the App suggests I have a Ford Focus. I've tried calling, emailing and sending numerous messages via Facebook all to no avail. It has been wrong for over three months now. Although Green Flag has verbally reassured me that if I need assistance they will attend, it worries me that if the vehicle details are incorrect they might turn up and then, decide they can't help. I know it is simply an IT issue but after three months I believe they have had more than enough time to sort this out and it really doesn't give me any reassurance about the services they offer. I have various covers with Direct Line and if Green Flag do not sort this out soon, I will feel obliged to cancel all covers and move elsewhere.
Thanks a lot for the help
Recently while on holiday in Wales,my car wheel bearing shatterd during the drive on motorway, terrifying experience .I used the app and after answering to few questions on the phone Help from green flag arrived.
they informed me the ETA and were spot on time. They transported my car to a garage few miles away, and took us to our hotel ,day after car was sorted and running again. I really appriciate green flag for all the help ( speacially to those guys at Hough Green Garage near Llandudno)
I hate Green Flag
I hate Green Flag. They put me on automatic renewal despite me saying twice not to. Every time I call it takes over an hour to get through. Last time I went to renew they automatically renewed me twice, I only have 1 car and 1 address, but they duplicated the policy without my consent, charged me for it then tried to say I can’t have a refund. I won’t be going back to Green Flag any time soon.

Disgusting these companies
Disgusting these companies, auto renewal biggest con ever, why would i want to auto renew. HELLO.
bought a brand new Audi car changed my reg with green flag over the phone. 5 months later just looking at bank statements and saw that GF auto renew me, i never auto renew being in sales i always shop around, these companies need to stop conning people, now i have to waste time ringing them and having some student tell me YOU MUST HAVE AUTO RENEWED. I WILL SAY PROVE AND GUESS WHAT THEY RECORD CALLS BUT I DIDNT TURN RECORD ON, ITS BROKEN, WE DONT RECORD EVERY CALL, DO YOU KNOW WHAT DAY AND TIME YOU CALLED. I HAVE HAD ALL THESE EXCUSES IN THE PAST, AND THEY CALL SALES PEOPLE DOGGY, WE HAVE INTEGRITY THESE LOT DONT. LOL at the touch of a button you can upgrade, BUT TO CANCEL, TAKE YOUR ACCOUNT DETAILS OF THERE SITE, DOWNGRADE YOU HAVE TO RING THEM, MORE WASTED TIME. THERE SHOULD BE A LAW AGAINST AUTO RENEW, THIS REMINDS ME OF GAS AND ELECTRIC, JUST SIGHN HERE TO SAY I HAVE READ YOUR METER: 4 WEEKS LATER YOU HAVE CHANGED SUPPLIER. BE WARNED WITH ANYONE DOING AUTO RENEW. WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE TO RING UP BEFORE THE RENEWAL DATE TO SAY DONT RENEW ME. WELL MY RANT IS OVER; MON I WILL BE CANCELLING MY POLICY BECAUSE NEW CARS WITH AUDI ARE COVERED FOR 3 YEARS.
My experience
I've been with Greenflag for a fair few years. I've used them 3 times, response times have been OK but every time Greenflag have sub contracted the call to another company. I've never seen a green flag van, only local recovery firms that seem less experienced and knowledgeable than you would expect, on my last call out the guy turned up with a recovery truck and little in the way of tools, I had to lend him a screwdriver !!
Its time for a change I think.

Got taken 30 miles away from our car to pick it up
Car broke down on holiday, managed to make it back to the cottage. Called Green Flag and they sent out a lovely mechanic who came to diagnose the issue but couldn't work it out and needed to take it for further tests at the garage. Green Flag then organised for us and our car to be recovered and taken home however they rang the next day to tell us that isn't happening, rudely reminded us of the terms and conditions of our contract and told us we need to take the car 50 miles to attempt a repair, which I wouldn't class as "local repair". Called Green Flag to arrange it and was told to go back to the cottage because a truck was on the way soon. Nothing turned up till the next afternoon. Was then told we would know what the issue was and be given a quote by the end of the day. 3 days later we recieve 2 phone calls both telling us that they don't know where exactly the car was and had no idea what was wrong with it. We were told multiple times that we would be given a quote on any repairs before it was undertaken as we didn't want to pay much to fix an old car. To our surprise we receive a phone call stating the car had been fixed and we'd be given a quote when we pick the car up. Green Flag booked us a taxi "as a favour for helping them avoid the cost of recovery" (which was an hour late) to go and pick the car up however the taxi delivered us to a random garage which had no idea which car we were talking about. It turns out our car was in a different garage 30 miles away. 2 hours later a different taxi has turned up and we have no idea if the garage is still open as a 1 hour 20 drive has taken 4 and a half hours so far. All of this happened because they were avoiding the cost of recovering the car. The mechanics who work under green flag are lovely but Green Flag make the battle of the Somme seem well organised.

Be careful with green flag
Be careful with green flag, today they took it upon themselves to help themselves to my money for a renewal I did not request or need.
Awful and nothing short of THEFT.
Excellent service
Had reason to call Green Flag yesterday as I had broken down. I only had to wait an hour which was good as I was originally told it would be a two hour wait before Green Flag to get to me. Tim, the driver of the breakdown truck was great. He was friendly and professional all through the procedure of loading my car and taking me to my garage of choice. An excellent service throughout. Would highly reccomrnd Green Flag to everyone.

Excellent service
Excellent service. The Green Flag Mechanic was with me in 10 minutes. Less than five minutes later the car was up and running. I have been a member for years and fortunately never had to use the service. When I needed it - it was quick and efficient.

Another auto-renewal scamming company
Another auto-renewal scamming company. You can only cancel via phone or in writing and not by their application or website. The email says: "it's time to renew" which actually means it will happen automatically.

Excellent retrieval from a ditch
Yesterday I reversed my Citroen Berlingo into a ditch on the edge of a field and 800m along a farm track from the nearest metalled road. I never carry a phone so had to walk one mile home. I phoned Green Flag, and because I couldn't provide a post code for the incident, persuaded them to pick me up from home (not their usual practice).
I agreed to a flexible arrival time and two hours later a huge breakdown truck appeared. We drove to the site and the opo (I regret not asking for his name) had to manoeuvre his truck on the narrow field margin.
Matters were complicated because I could not find the screw-in tow hook.
He fixed a bridle beneath the car and ran the winch cable via a pulley block because it was not straight pull. Moments later the Berlingo was retrieved.
He had travelled 30 miles from his base in Newmarket. I congratulated him on his expertise. He replied 'And I used to be a jockey!'
I was so grateful for this service.
